Fall Hair Accessories

I believe that accesories complete your whole entire outfit.  A simple bracelet or necklace can turn your simple, everyday look to going out at night beauty!  And you pretty much don't want to get me started on hair accessories.  I have the hardest time passing by them in the department store if I know I don't have any money left to buy one.  Hair accessories make your outift look so chic and cute.  A couple weeks ago I wrote about what's up and new in fall fashion 2011.  But now I'm getting more specific; today it's all about fall hair accessories 2011!  Thanks to one of my favorite fashion sites, http://www.beautyhigh.com/, you can see my top 5 picks that I highly recommend to girls everywhere!

I love how this headband is reversible.  On one side, it's all about the glitz and glam, on the other side, it's chic and adorable.

The pink color is super cute and the different design within the headband makes this headband go from bland to adorable!

These pins are probably my favorite from this site.  I love how there are many different colors to choose from, and even just on one pin there are different colors on it.

I love the beading on this headband and different patterns on it.

This yellow color will make any outfit just come to life! It's not too obnoxious, but it's not bland and barely noticeable.  It's the perfect color!

Pain is Beauty

I love having long hair that feels full of volume and looks beautiful.  I'm pretty sure I'm not the only who feels that way.  I'm lucky enough to have long hair that is easy to work with and can do almost anything.  Some short styles aren't so easy to handle.

The solution can sometimes be to get hair extensions.  Hair extensions have become the must-have accessory with celebrities and starlets, it's no wonder why ordinary women are going to their closest hair stylist and asking for longer and fuller hair.  Hair extensions attach to a person's scalp and you can either weave, glue, or clip it on. But, there can sometimes be side effects. I was reading some stories about hair extensions on http://www.yahoo.com/, and these stories changed my thoughts about the innocence of this must-have accessory.

Maya Romas, 22, started using clip-on hair extensions to make her hair fuller and longer.  After three months, she noticed that her hair was falling out near the extensions, and pieces of hair fell out randomly.  Romas decided to go to a hair loss expert.  The specialist diagnosed Maya with traction alopecia, a form of gradual hair loss caused primarily by a pulling force being applied to the hair.  The specialist told her to leave the extensions alone and the hair should grow back. After one year of giving up hair extensions, Maya Romas hair was back.

Unfortunately, sometimes there isn't a solution. Chioma Odimegwu, 25, is considering getting a hair transplant due to the extensions she once had.  Odimegwu first started with hair extensions when she was only 19.  After six years of hair extensions, it resulted in permanent hair loss.  When Chioma first started with extensions, her real hair was very thin and she was balding.  She decided to go back to get more extensions so that it would cover any bald spots.  But, the second time around, it only worsened the problem.  When she took out the new extensions, her  hair was very, very sparse.  Like Maya, Chioma decided to go to a hair loss specialist and see whether she had any options to keep her real hair.  She tried many different doctor-recommended products, such as female Rogaine, which tries to grow back hair. Nothing worked for Chioma, and now she has many bald spots and thinning hair.

Before I read this stories, I didn't think anything bad of hair extensions.  I thought that extensions were great for anyone who wants to have a few more inches of hair.  Now, knowing all this, would you still get hair extensions? Me personally, I wouldn't.  I love my hair too much to risk the chance of going bald. Plus, getting extensions professionally done can cost anywhere from $100 to $1,000 or more!

If I had a thousand dollars to spend, I would spend it on something that wouldn't thin my hair or cause me to go bald.  Everyone woman out there who is thinking of getting hair extensions should do some research first and try and find the safest way to get the beautiful hair they want!

Blake Lively

"My style has been totally influenced by Audrey Hepburn and Kate Moss equally; they're such fashion icons. But Sienna Miller's young, urban style is also totally what I'm going for." - Blake Lively
I couldn't agree with Blake Lively's fashion icon choices more.  You may know this blonde beauty from The Green Lantern, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Gossip Girl, or the fact she and Leonardo DiCaprio just split a month or two ago.  I absolutely adore her style! (Mainly because she picks out all her outfits herself; she doesn't even have a stylist! ) She has a way to make the most simple outfit look like it came straight off the runway.  In case you've been living under a rock and haven't noticed how ridiculous some outfits are getting (Lady GaGa's meatdress, Katy Perry's smurf outfit, Nicki Minaj's Japan dress), Blake keeps her outfits looking amazing and more buzzworthy than these dresses can try!  I also love the fact that she keeps everything modest. In my eyes, Lively is definitely one of the best fashion role models out there!

Fabulous Fall Fashion!

It's official! It's already October, which means that fall is in the air... and in fashion.  It's time for us girls to put away our tank tops and shorts and start wearing sweaters and jeans.  Fall is my absolute favorite season, and I'm so excited for this fall's fashion!  This autumn, it's all about the color! Who says you have to look drab and gray for fall? No one, so go to your nearest mall and grab all the color you can get!  If you have no idea what is even in, no worries.  Two of my favorite sites, http://www.redeyechicago.com/ and http://www.nwsource.com/, have you covered.  Below are some of my highly recommended picks, and I'm sure you'll love them, too!

Collective Concepts multi colored print top, $64; Tulle fuscia skirt, $54; Elyse M belt, $48, all Tribeca boutique, 1035 W. Madison.
This has to be one of my favorite outfits on http://www.redeyechicago.com/. I love the top's bold colors, and the skirt matches perfectly!
Personal Privilege V-neck Slice Dress, $48.99, at 1448 N. Milwaukee in Wicker Park.
A great dress to wear to a high school senior dinner dance! I love the ruffles, not to mention the purple.
TBags los Angelos fuschia tunic, $148; TBags los Angelos feather necklace, $48, both Tribeca boutique, 1035 W. Madison.
I love shirts that aren't form-fitting and are so comfy that you could go to bed in them.  This top is kinda like that.  Paired with jeggings-- ultimate in style and comfort.  The peacock necklace provides pop.
Kim Hiley, owner of the trendy Tribeca boutique, 1035 W. Madison in the West Loop, says fuchsia is her fave color of the moment. "I love this color for fall because I think of it as an ‘urban pink.' It brightens up all the zillion shades of black, grey and brown that everyone has in their wardrobe."
<br> SHOWN: Tulle fuschia mod jumper, $68; Michael Stars black T-shirt, $55; Elyse M belt, $48.
Notice any similarities in this outfit and the first one? Yep, it's the same dress! Layer with a long-sleeved tee and cinch with a belt, and you have another fabulous, fun fall look.
Pink Polka Dot multi-colored tunic, $114; David Aubrey black necklace, $88, both Tribeca boutique, 1035 W. Madison.
If the first outfit had bold colors, then this dress takes it to the next level.  I really this color palette.
Maggie and Jennifer Gelber, owners of Fix boutique at 1101 W. Fulton, consider this Pencey party dress the perfect example of fall color pop. It retails for $368. "This dress is perfect for any type of event coming up this fall. It encompasses the current trends of bright, bold colors with a splash of lace."
When I first saw this dress, I told myself I had to have it!  I love the tapered hem.  Plus, I'm a sucker for one-shoulder dresses.  There's nothing about this dress that I would change!

This dress reminds me of something Kate Middleton would wear.  It's modest, but the bold blue color makes a statement.  I love the pockets-- I will buy a dress solely because of the pockets!

Who says you can't wear black and brown together?  The blue skirt ties the formerly forbidden combination together, and the trench coat will make you look adorable even on a rainy day!

This dress also says Kate Middleton.  With the beautiful green color and the gentle cowl neck , you would look just as beautiful as Kate herself!

This dress is just way too cute! I love polka dots-- not too many, not too few. These dots are just right!
